I got my supplies from Michael's. I think I spent over an hour just in the knitting/ crochet section coz I couldn't decide which yarn to get... I didn't KNOW what to get.
The girl there didn't know anything about knitting either but she was very nice and tried to help as much as she can. She said that was the only Michael's store that didn't have someone who was proficient in knitting/ crochet.
I knew there were lots and lots of kinds of yarn since they had tons of display. It was all about choices. I found the book on amigurumi later which I should have looked for first. With this book it was now easier for me to get the proper needle and yarn. It was now just a matter of what color to choose.
Being the frugal me, I of course had to use a coupon. Too bad coupons were not accepted for books... aww shucks. The book is much cheaper online but with shipping costs it almost, almost amounts to the same thing. Besides I wanted it NOW!
Walmart was just across the street and I decided to compare prices. I was so relieved that the yarns were only a few cents cheaper here and there were a lot fewer choices. The book and hook that I needed was not available. Sigh of relief there. I didn't have to go back to Michael's to return anything.
I am now starting the icing part of the cupcake. Below is how far I've come. I will update once I am done.
